As Disney Cruise Line readies for its maiden voyage in Asia, here’s what you can expect on board the brand new cruise ship

Setting sail from Singapore from March 2026, Disney Adventure promises a fun-filled voyage at sea

“Is this your first Disney cruise experience?”, I’m asked by a team member as we set foot aboard the Disney Wish that is all set to sail to the Bahamas and back from Orlando, USA. I nod enthusiastically, not entirely sure what to expect from the popular family cruise, other than the brief research I had done on the entertainment giant’s signature experiences at sea.

Over the course of 4 nights and 5 days, after experiencing some of that Disney magic myself, I realised just why it’s such a draw with kids and adults alike. It’s not just the dedicated themed zones, bumping into your favourite Disney characters as you wander the ship, F&B experiences that seamlessly tie into all-time popular Disney, Pixar and Marvel movies, Broadway-style theatre shows, as well as tons of activities that keep the little ones entertained while adults retreat to some of the adult-only spaces on the ship to relax and unwind—it’s a whole universe of fun-filled magic that keeps you engaged and engrossed till you reach shores again. Everything is designed to evoke a sense of whimsy and nostalgia, from the intentional decor to the entertainment and experiences on board.

Disney Cruise Line reveals the Disney Adventure, setting sail from Singapore on December 15, 2025 – Mowgli’s Eatery

I spent my days at sea savouring the best of culinary experiences, whether it was a meal at the adults-only restaurant Palo, as we grazed on classic Northern Italian fare paired with crisp wines and sparkling zero-proof cocktails, a Frozen-themed restaurant that was reminiscent of the fictional kingdom of Arendelle, complete with song and dance performances along with themed drinks and food, and sensory respite at the spa with relaxing therapies. It was even in the smaller details such as coming back to my room with a little surprise or a snack platter put together by the housekeeping staff at the end of each evening, or for that matter, when you dine as part of Disney’s rotational dining concept on board its ships—the same service staff accompanies you each night so they are well-versed with your dietary preferences, likes and dislikes.

There is a strong focus on F&B experiences as well. Given that a significant chunk of guests will be from the Indian subcontinent and Asia, the 20-something restaurants, eateries, lounges and bars on board will cater to diverse palates. Think, Indian fare at Mowgli’s Eatery including plenty of vegetarian options such as spiced vegetable rolls; omakase dining, teppanyaki and Japanese steakhouse options at Mike & Sulley’s; classic Southeast Asian flavours such as Hainanese chicken and rice and laksa lemak; Palo Trattoria for the adults to enjoy an evening out and the Enchanted Summer Restaurant inspired by popular movies like Tangled and Frozen, along with a clutch of other such dining and drinking options. Another highlight of the cruise is the concept of rotational dining at its family-friendly themed restaurants, ensuring guests can enjoy meals at six different outlets for the duration of their cruise. For the little ones, classic Mickey waffles and icy treats like bubble teas await, be it at the breakfast buffet or other spaces, while you also have the addition of gourmet brands like Bacha Coffee and TWG Tea. Also making its debut on the Adventure is the Royal Society of Friendship and Tea, where kids between the ages of 3 and 12 will get the opportunity to enjoy a royal tea party in the company of some of their favourite Disney princesses.

If you’re in the mood for a little indulgence, Disney’s Concierge Service is the way to go. Think of it as your VIP pass, with exclusive access to a private outdoor deck, an Aladdin-inspired lounge, and a dedicated team to help you book activities, secure dining reservations, and even personalise your experiences. Add to that the spacious, beautifully designed staterooms and suites, and you’ve got yourself the ultimate pampered stay on board.

With more and more Indians turning to cruise holidays, it’s an interesting time for Disney to be setting sail in Asia. At the end of my stay on board the Wish, I realised just why I was told that the Disney cruise experience tends to spoil you for any future cruises—after all, there’s nothing quite like the warm, fuzzy feeling of reminiscing some of your favourite memories while growing up.
