Review: OPA Kipos Returns to Mumbai with a Smashing Comeback at Worli

If there’s one thing OPA Kipos knows how to do, it’s how to make an entrance, and this time, they’ve truly made a smashing return to Mumbai. Once a magnet for the city’s glitterati, the Dubai-based Greek fine-dine has reopened at Worli under the care of Aspect Hospitality Group (the team behind Akina, Brunch & Cake, and Radio Bar), and let me tell you that this comeback is worth the hype.

From the moment you step into OPA Kipos, it’s a full sensory takeover. The Santorini-inspired interiors instantly transport you to whitewashed walls, deep blue accents, bougainvillea cascading from canopies, and that unmistakable island charm that makes you forget you’re in Mumbai. The space feels like a little slice of Greece right in the middle of the city radiant, lively, and buzzing with kefi (that joyful, celebratory Greek spirit).

The evening kicked off with some appetizers, the Lamb Moussaka, a clear winner and one of their star dishes, along with the Chicken Gyro, which was equally comforting and well-balanced. We also tried the Prawn dish (that looked a little more like a chicken kofta than an actual prawn), but it delivered on taste with its rich, saucy depth. For mains, the Lobster Linguine stole the show packed with flavour, cooked to perfection, and served in portions generous enough to share.

As the evening unfolded, the vibe just kept getting better. The staff, warm and full of energy, made everyone feel like they were part of something where not just dinner, but an experience. The famous OPA rituals kicked in, with music, dancing, and of course, the iconic plate-smashing moment that sent everyone cheering. The energy in the room was infectious and you could feel the rhythm of Greece pulsing through the crowd.

What I love about OPA Kipos is that it’s never just a meal. It’s theatre, emotion, and celebration all rolled into one. The hospitality stood out too — friendly faces, attentive service, and that easy warmth that made us feel like part of the OPA family. Between the music, the laughter, the flavour-packed food, and the free-flowing cocktails, the night felt alive in every way possible.

The whole experience from the food to the vibe was beautifully thought out, balancing luxury with soul. OPA Kipos isn’t just back; it’s back with spirit, spectacle, and a whole lot of smashing good energy. I went in with my friend for dinner and walked out with a smile (and probably a bit of muhammara on my sleeve).

Big love to the team for bringing the OPA magic back to Mumbai. It’s a yes from me — or as they’d say in Greece, a big, fat OPA!
