Review: Bang Bang! Noodle, Goregaon — Where Sichuan Fire Meets Mumbai Swagger

Bang Bang! Noodle in Goregaon West has quickly become one of the city’s most exciting new dining spots. Bold, unapologetic, and rooted in authenticity, it has earned a reputation for its hand-pulled noodles and the fiery Ma La flavours that few places in Mumbai truly capture.

The man behind it is Chef Rahul Punjabi, whose experience at Masala Library in Mumbai and Quay in Sydney shows in his sharp attention to detail. He’s uncompromising when it comes to quality—every ingredient is freshly sourced, every sauce made from scratch. His goal is simple: consistency. If you fall in love with a dish on your first visit, it should taste just as good when you come back again.

The star of the menu is the Ma La Dry Noodles, a Sichuan street-food staple from Chengdu and Chongqing. “Ma La” translates to “numbing and spicy,” a flavour born from the combination of Sichuan peppercorns and chilies. At Bang Bang!, these noodles are pulled fresh to order, carrying a chewy bite that soaks up layers of sesame, chili oil, and spice. The result is fiery, balanced, and deeply satisfying.

But the menu doesn’t stop there. Fresh wontons come swimming in broths and sauces, ramen arrives with a soy-milk twist, and stir-fries add plenty of variety. The prawn toast and spring rolls are comforting, golden classics that instantly spark nostalgia, while fun additions like flying noodles and a chili oil soft serve dessert show off the restaurant’s playful edge.

Bang Bang! isn’t just another noodle joint—it’s theatre, flavour, and craft rolled into one. The energy is casual but buzzing, with every plate built for impact. Do note, though: this is a popular spot, so booking ahead is wise unless you’re prepared for a wait.

Where: Ekta Tripolis, Goregaon
